WHAT YOU WILL DO
In this position, you will be part of the Mechanical Engineering team where you will manage approximately seven direct reports who are highly skilled engineers with different background and skills. You will report to the Director for Mechanical Engineering.
As a manager for mechanical engineering you will:
be responsible for the personnel reporting to you as employees and contractors. This includes activities such as recruitment, personal development and support to fulfill meaningful tasks.
be Functional lead on Mechanical design deliverables. As such, you drive for results that meet the requirements of quality, innovation and speed.
work for the team’s operational implementation in order to secure aligned plans and agreements, but also on technical implementation of architecture and platforming across product programs.
secure cross functional cooperation with other functions to ensure a successful collaboration, both short term and long term. Key factors for this are good teamwork and communications as well as a creative workplace.
develop team structure to improve and make our design methods and work procedures more efficient. You will start, drive and maintain initiatives to increase the organization capability.

The person we are looking for has a strong personal drive with a strategic mindset and can identify customer needs and the larger business objectives that a product or feature will fulfill, also understanding the technologies in the products.
As Product Manager, you will be the voice of the customer, and seek to understand how we can improve our existing portfolio or create new products for the future. We are looking for a senior profile with good leadership skills and a minimum of five years’ experience in relevant positions.

Requirements
You have previous experience within software product management delivering product marketing/business strategies. You have a broad technical understanding rather than deep and narrow expertise. We are accelerating execution of our new product development portfolio and are now looking for a New Product Introduction Manager. In this role you’ll be leading a team of manufacturing engineers and project purchasers with the responsibility of managing effective and qualitative industrialization of our roadmap. You ensure delivery of process design in line with our sourcing, manufacturing and distribution strategic framework and operational objectives. You report directly to Director Operations & Supply chain and is part of the department leadership team.

Areas of responsibilities
• Deliver the Emerson People strategy; motivate and coach to ensure a positive work environment.
• Take active part in setting, and ownership of implementing, the strategic framework for sourcing, manufacturing and distribution strategies in new product introductions and product transfers.
• Ensure a qualitative and efficient new product introduction process and resourcing.

• Actively Monitor launch schedules and supply readiness to identify any delays or deviations and assure efficient mitigation activities.
• Manage local and global network relations relevant for the role and projects.
• Take ownership for the new product introduction process and deliverables in steering team settings and management report outs


Requirements
• B.Sc. or M.Sc. or equivalent in Engineering or other relevant degree
• End to end supply chain, manufacturing or manufacturing engineering background with a minimum of 5 experience in a leading position
• Experience in project management within new product introductions
• Knowledge and experience in applying lean tools, process pFMEA, DFA(A) and Level of automation evaluations
• Fluent in English communication skills, both written and verbal

At our Innovation Centre in Sweden, you will find the opportunity to develop your inclusive leadership and team management skills with a group of engineers involved all aspects of mechanical development. What you will do

Hands-on experience of synthesizing strategy covering a cross-functional company level and being a catalyst for change
Proven track-record to work pro-actively in the intersection between technology planning, R&D, and IP
Experience from managing and leading the prosecution of an IP portfolio
Business fluent in Swedish and English

Solid experience in driving business value based on technology and intellectual property
Product or technology planning and leadership
Experience from technology-based IP licensing

About you
We believe that you have great experience from leading complex product development projects from early concept phase until the product is being launched. You enjoy taking active part in planning the project portfolio to maximize output and optimize resource constraints.
You are used to managing resources, budget and project portfolio. Continuous improvements are something you see as an integrated part of the role. Today there is a high focus on shortening project lead time by implementation of Lean-Agile methods which you are very familiar with. About the role
Product development is an important part of our product portfolio strategy. Over the coming years we will significantly increase our overall E&D investments, especially in our platform-based radar portfolio. Project teams are often distributed over several development sites, nationally and internationally, projects are performed in cooperation with global organizations in Emerson or with external partners.
As a Manager PMO you will lead a team of currently nine project managers responsible for a portfolio of large, medium and small projects as well as a team handling maintenance work. You will be responsible for ensuring projects are completed on time and within budget.
You will work close to product management and resource owners to execute our product roadmap and you are a member of the Product Development Leadership Team.
